Board Duties

President

Preside at all meetings of this local PTA; Serve as an executive officer member of all committees except the nominating committee; Coordinate the work of the officers and committees of this local PTA in order that the Objects may be promoted.  Perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the board of directors or executive committee.

Vice President

Act as aide to the President; Perform the duties of the president in the president's absence or inability to serve; Maintain a current membership list; Perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the president, the board of directors, or the executive committee.

Secretary

Record the minutes of all meetings of the Petroglyph Elementary School PTA; Distribute minutes to board members prior to the next meeting; Be prepared to read the records of any previous meetings; File all records; Have a current copy of the bylaws; Perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the president, the board of directors, or the executive committee.

Treasurer

Have custody of the funds of this local PTA; Maintain a full account of the funds of this local PTA; Make disbursements as authorized by the President, Executive Board, or this local PTA in accordance with the budget adopted by this local PTA; Have checks or vouchers signed by two persons, the Treasurer and one other Officer; Cause to be kept a full and accurate account of the receipts and disbursements in the books belonging to the Petroglyph Elementary School PTA; Provide a written financial statement to the board of directors at each meeting; Present an annual report of the financial condition of the organization at the meeting at which new officers officially assume their duties (usually the annual meeting); Submit the books annually at the end of the fiscal year, or upon a change of an officer, for an audit by an auditing committee selected by the board of directors, of not fewer than three members, who, satisfied that the Treasurer's annual report is correct, shall sign a statement of that fact.  Report the findings of the annual audit to the board of directors and the New Mexico PTA; Perform such other duties as may be provided for by these bylaws, prescribed by the parliamentary authority, or directed by the president, the board of directors, or the executive committee.
